Description:

I’m Brandie VanOrder: recent Boise State grad; employed by my sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta; future in higher education.

Compassion is an important value in my life, and my lifestyle has been consistently dynamic as I try to apply this to my daily habits (newly vegan) and my future plans. I am interested in “the internationalization of higher education.” What this means to me is that we challenge ourselves to give greater consideration to the impact our studies and actions have beyond our own communities. If we do this, I believe a more thoughtful and compassionate populace will use/share their education to improve the quality of existence for themselves and others.

And maybe for the animals too.

But just maybe. A lot of people like steak.

Founders Day 2012

International asked us on Twitter to complete this sentence:

"I'm thankful for Alpha Gam because _________."

I’ll start.

I’m thankful for Alpha Gam because of the amazing  experienced as a collegian, and those as an alumna as well, through our amazing collection of bloggers on every topic imaginable I’ve been able to connect with sisters across the country and across generations.

Share yours’ in the comments on this blog or on the Facebook post.

Sister Spotlight–Rachele Lynae

Rachele Lynae an Alpha Gamma Delta Theta Tau (Belmont University – Nashville, TN) Alumna has  just released her first single and music video, Party til the Cows Come Home on Jamie O’Neal’s new label Momentum Group.  I’m so excited for Rachele, who is indeed the sweetest person you’ll ever meet and who truly aspires to live with purpose. Theta Tau was so very lucky to have her incredible talent in our recruitment skits and Greek Sing performances.

I hope you’ll take the opportunity to check out her video and ‘like’ her Facebook page.

Loyally,

Kirstin

Want to learn the line dance? There’s even a step by step video for that… now if only I had it laid out that well for skit night…

Are you (or a sister you know) an accomplished Alpha Gam we should feature in the Sister Spotlight? Email Bloggers@AlphaGam.org and we’ll feature you. It’s so great to learn about the amazing things our sisters across the globe have done.

Each day, we'll take one album (or more) and look at every song on there. I'll include some videos to watch, and my own little thoughts before, during, and after the listen. It's a fun way to discover new music in it's entire album form, with a view on it all from a girl who simply adores music.

Silly Talking Squirrel App

I debated whether or not to post this, but decided given the amount of time Alpha Gams spend waiting it could provide some silly entertainment.
I present “Talking James Squirrel” a free Android App.
He’s basically “Talking Tom Cat” but in cuter squirrel form.

He’s silly and cute. Enjoy.
He is available for iphone but is $.99 cents, and honestly not worth it…

New Page on the Blog Network

Introducing a new page on the Blog Network, The Graphic Archive!

Check it out for my collection of Alpha Gam Graphics from over the years.

I’m also calling for YouTube videos from 2012 Alpha Gamma Delta Greek Sings, Greek Stomps, Greek Strolls, LipJams, whatever your campus calls them. Comment, Tweet, Email, or Facebook me a link!

I’ve started a YouTube playlist, how great will this be for getting ideas =)

This poor baby squirrel fell from her nest, luckily someone saw her, and now she’ll be mended up in no time.
