I started my blog several years ago when my first son was born.  I wanted to be able to keep our families updated with pictures and stories, while documenting all the milestones for the future as well.  Another son later, my blog has evolved into not only a place to share about my family but also my kitchen.  I love to cook, eat, and review food.  It is truly a passion of mine and I love to share my passion with others!

Alpha Gam Rap - Arkansas State

I found this a few years ago (it was created in 09), but have recently rediscovered it thanks to a comment, it’s been stuck in my head ever since. It’s courtesy of Epsilon Zeta Chapter at Arkansas State and was created by a friend for their Step Show competition.

I dare you to not be singing it in your head for the rest of the day!
It can be downloaded for free from Archive.org

Description:

From One to One Thousand, here is the online description of every step of my commitment to writing, sharing, and sending a thousand thank yous into the world!
http://www.thousandthankyous.com/ is what I have made the "headquarters" for my project, but given my current minimal HTML skills (and my lack of time/desire to learn any new ones right now!) I redirect folks to my Blogger.com blog. However, on my main website, here is the Welcome page text which describes what the project and blog area about...
<<At least once a week for the past several years of my life, I have experienced the following -- something lovely, pleasant, wonderful, exciting, kind or fun happens, largely in part due the actions of a particular human being, and I think to myself "I really should thank this person/company/organization, because this entity has brought joy into my life and I don't want that to go unrecognized." On the journey home from the store, party, website, etc., I imagine all of the splendid things that I will say in a neatly handwritten note that I will mail out (snail mail, not electronic) to the deserving party. At some point, I then get distracted, and I forget all about my good intentions. Or worse, I feel some level of embarrassment for thinking to write a thank you note and I shut down the whole idea, never to be addressed again.
This needs to change.
Why? Because it makes me happy to share gratitude, and people enjoy being appreciated. Because there is nothing embarrassing about wanting to tell someone about a job well done, a product well made, or simple an outing duly enjoyed.
So, in order to remove any perceived stigma to writing such thank yous - since my goal is to write 1,000 of them from this moment forward before I make a new plan - I have created this website and will share the steps of my journey. >>

I love history and I love chapter houses. IHQ didn't have a database of all of our properties so, basically, I got bored one day and started my own. I desperately need to sit down and update the site but it's still a pretty good list. If you have any information, history, pictures, or comments, please send me an email or post something in the comments section under each chapter. The houses and information on this blog are what I could find by doing my own research and looking on the internet. So, if something is wrong, please let me know. Thank you and enjoy :)

Thoughts and Prayers for Katy Benoit of Delta Theta

As an 'independent' network of Alpha Gamma Delta sisters it saddens me that the blog network has become a 'news source' for when tragedy strikes our sisters, but I think it's important that we know about such events, as these woman are our sisters no matter that we never met them, or that they are miles away, and because of that they are so deserving of our thoughts and prayers.

Monday such tragedy struck Delta Theta chapter at University of Idaho. Alumna Katherine (Katy) Benoit was murdered. Katy was about to start her first year of graduate school at University of Idaho where she also earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I don't feel that is the blog networks place to share further details here, but a simple news search will take you to numerous stories.

Please keep Katy's family, the sisters of Delta Theta, and the University of Idaho community in your thoughts and prayers in this trying time.

LIEP
